Admission We are open in the grounds and playgrounds daily from 1st April until 31st October 2021, 10 am to 4.30 pm. We look forward to welcoming all our visitors back then and thank all our friends and visitors for your support. For 2021: Tickets to be bought at The Old Sawmill Tearoom in Dodd Wood car park. No advance booking needed. Parking and toilets for Mirehouse & Gardens are at Dodd Wood Pay on Exit car park opposite the main entrance. Fortunately we have plenty of space in the gardens and along the lakeside walk so adhering to social distancing should be quite simple for our visitors. However if we do feel the site is getting too busy we will operate a one out one in policy immediately. The Gardens when open in 2021: Adult £4.50 Child £2.00 Under 4s FREE House when able to open: Adult £9 Child £4.00 Family (2 adults and upto 4 children) £23 Under 4s FREE Details of disability access to Mirehouse and its gardens are available upon request at the tearoom. The house is fully accessible for wheelchairs and disabled access parking is available in front of the house. The grounds at Mirehouse are certainly dog friendly. Dogs are welcome in the grounds (though not in the playgrounds) on a short lead at all times. As the walks pass through farmland, please be aware that it is an offence to allow your pet to bother any livestock. Please give farm animals plenty of space to not feel intimidated. Cows may be more curious, but should they charge toward you, drop your dog lead and run to safety. You pet will be able to outrun any danger by itself. Be especially vigilant around livestock. Mirehouse is a member of the Historic Houses and Cumbria's Living Heritage. Also, Sandhills B&B nearby is highly recommended.
