Set in the heart of the North Lake District, three miles from Keswick, the beautiful, natural gardens at Mirehouse offer stunning views of the dramatic Lakeland landscape they are set in.
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the walled Bee Garden, stroll in quiet contemplation along the Poetry Walk, explore woods and farmland, enjoy the adventure playgrounds or relax by the shores of Bassenthwaite Lake.

Purchase Tickets
Tickets to be bought at The Old Sawmill Tearoom in Dodd Wood car park. Card or cash payments accepted. No advance booking needed.
Parking and Toilets
Parking and toilets for Mirehouse and Gardens are at Dodd Wood Pay on Exit car park across the road from our entrance.
Accessibility
Details of disability access to Mirehouse and its gardens are available upon request at the tearoom. The house is fully accessible for wheelchairs and disabled access parking is available in front of the house.
Dogs Welcome
The grounds at Mirehouse are certainly dog friendly. Dogs are welcome in the grounds (though not in the playgrounds) on a short lead at all times. As the walks pass through farmland, please give farm animals plenty of space to not feel intimidated. Please see the Countryside Code for more information.
Groups
School parties are welcome in the grounds by appointment and attract a 10% discount. On days when Mirehouse is not otherwise open to visitors, specialist guided tours of the house may be arranged. Please contact us by email or telephone to discuss further.
