Accessibility for Disabled Guests A detailed leaflet giving more information with regard to accessibility of both Mirehouse and its grounds is available on request from the Old Sawmill Tearoom in the car park. The part of the house open to visitors is fully accessible to wheelchair users. Most paths are gravelled in the grounds.Access to the HouseThe part of the house that is open to the public is entirely accessible to wheelchairs. You are welcome to sit on any chair that does not have a cord across it. Subject to availability, a guide may also be able to arrange a special tactile tour. Disabled people are welcome to take cars down the drive to the house. Guide dogs are welcome in the house and in the tearoom. Please mention at the tearoom that you need your guide dog with you. However this part can be avoided by going past the house and down through the double iron gates. The Lakeside WalkThe first part, round Catstocks Wood, is accessible for wheelchair users and takes you past the boat house. Here a path continues through the wood however it is advisable to return up the central path through the woods.
